Cooler weather, warmer colours

There has been a big drop in the temperature here the last couple of days and we have snow forecast for the weekend. It did seem like we were getting away lightly so far this winter as it has been relatively mild. I've been cosied up today with a big mug of green tea and been finishing of my ACEOs that I started. Have a peek -

This little lady is painted in acrylics on a thick textured canvas style paper. Working in acrylics takes me a bit longer than gouache, ink and pencil. I hope you like her I've tried to keep her expressive and thoughtful. I have also noticed when using acrylics I seem to select a larger variety of colours, in gouache I tend to stick to quite a close palette. I'm undecided which way is best.

Here is another little canvas I finished recently, it's a little house in the trees and flowers.

  1. So cute, your picture with the trees all in a row. I love the candy colours!
I think you've done a great job using acrylics. It's so tempting to over-do it with them because they can sit one layer on top of the other into infinity as I know all to well! You've kept your lovely lightness of touch yay!xx
