Art Therapy

Sometimes I like to draw and paint as a sort of release from everyday life, escaping deep into my own little dream world. Often I'll create what I think others will enjoy but I'm sure you know by now that I can quickly drift off into this trance where I just paint what I feel. I dip in and out of creating for myself and creating for others.

I had been chatting on facebook about animals in my work after I sold a little lady/fox ACEO. The most popular suggestion to come back at me was a cat. I've started a few sketches with the cats and I'm looking forward to the next stage of combining them with my ladies and undecided if I will be layering up with gouache or acrylics (I think at the moment gouache may work best for these but we shall see).

    Fantastic Yvonne!! I love your new ladies!! I am so excited for the cats and I would like to see some foxes too ;o) My friend, not to tell you what to do, but I feel, always paint for you! I always go into a trance when I paint! I use to paint for others, but I didn't feel the same. As soon as I started to paint for me, then the "magic" started to come out! It was the true me! If I am painting a special order, than that's different, but I will still put my own twist on it ;o) Take Care, Hugs ;o)
