Little Berries and Little Ladies

There was a big change in the weather here in St Andrews today, we've been basking in sunshine the last week or so but I'm afraid no more. Today it went back to a cold wind and a dull almost autumn like feel. I went with my son on a nursery trip to our local fruit farm and got to hear all about the different fruits and especially the berries they grow there (which are pretty mixed up too with all these changes in the weather). It was a lovely trip and we were all smelling the freshly grown herbs and looking at the little new flowers sprouting through. My son has only about four weeks left now of nursery until he finishes for the summer holidays - he seems to have a fair few trips and events lined up before then, the first being this coming Friday when the nursery and school celebrate the Queens diamond jubilee with an outdoor party type picnic. Would be lovely if the weather could pick up a little for then.

I have been creating some new work too so I'll share that with you. Mainly little ladies in A5 size and also a few new ACEOs, I hope you like them. I have been thinking about creating some prints for my shop lately but it's something I need to explore a little more.

  1. I love your ladies ;o) All so pretty and unique ;o) You had great fun with your son ;o) The weather has turned colder here too, but we haven't had rain in two weeks! We are so dry! We need rain! I think I will be doing a rain dance soon, seriously!! ;o) I hope friday will be good weather for the celebration ;o) Do you think the queen will ever step down? I just wonder if Charles will ever be King? Take Care ;o)

    1. I hope you get some rain soon, this is the first morning in a while I've woken up to rain, not the proper pouring type but that misty in the air drizzle type! I really don't know what will happen with Charles, maybe they will just skip to William, if they can do that? xx

  2. I just wanted to say, prints are tricky? I don't know? Have you ever did cards?

    1. I used to handmake my own cards a few years ago but I found they were quite labour intensive. Getting cards or maybe some postcards printed might be a good starting point for me, I will investigate costs :0) xx

  3. Hi Yvonne, why I said prints are tricky, is because either people want them or they don't. And, I know some people who have invested in them, and they didn't sell. It's has to be your choice. Maybe take a poll on your blog and facebook. All the sites you belong to, and see if people are interested in them?

    1. A poll is a very good idea, I had been talking about it over on facebook a little bit and some people said to offer both. Generally from what I've seen they seem to be quite expensive here to get made x

  4. Love your new ladies, especially the top one :)That trip with your son sounds lovely and my son's school also have a jubilee picnic planned tomorrow but hoping it won't rain too.Hope you have good weather too.Re your print query;I asked for advice on facebook a while back about the same thing and there was more interest in cards and postcards and someone suggested getting some printed through moo so I can trial the different designs before committing to larger quantities which is what I plan to do.
Also someone mentioned a company called Iris print who they used and were really pleased with.Hope that helps, sorry for essay :D Cassandra xx

    1. Hi Cassandra hope you've had some nice weather your way today for the jubilee picnic. We never made it along to ours as poor Max has the chickenpox, I've a feeling there might be a few off with that. I've had little moo small sample cards before and they were really a lovely quality, they might be good to go with, I'll check out iris print too - thanks very much for the suggestions, sometimes its hard to know where to start and you google it and allsorts come up to look through. I like the idea of trialing different designs to see whats popular before commiting to anything too large xx

    2. Poor Max,hope he's not feeling too poorly with it.I suppose it's good to get chickenpox out of the way before starting school.Hope he starts feeling better soon.By the way if you do try out the moo postcards make sure you read the artwork guidelines help because I had problems with my last batch of business cards because I hadn't unticked a certain box. They were great about it of course but I've since read the artwork guidelines properly as they are really helpful.I'm sure you would do that anyway:D Looking forwarding to seeing how you get on,Cassandra :)xx

    3. He's not too bad with it in himself, he's totally covered in the spots though - he shows me his tummy and I have to say oh not much to see, hardly noticeable, lol! Thanks for letting me know about that- it sounds very much like something I might not notice so I will keep my eyes peeled xx
